Bioclear

What is Bioclear?

The Bioclear Method is an approach to cosmetic and restorative dental services that is used instead of traditional fillings, bonding or veneers.

Bioclear is a technique that uses thin, specialized matrix bands that fit around the tooth to restore its shape and function. At our clinic, Dr. Kamra treats the affected tooth or teeth and restores them with a warm, flowable composite material. This technique restores the natural contours of your tooth and is set with a curing LED light before being polished to create a smooth, natural finish in a conservative, non-invasive fashion.

This results in a thicker, long-lasting restoration without compromising the integrity of the natural tooth underneath.

What can Bioclear do?

  • Fill in gaps created by receding gumlines
  • Fix chips or breaks while leaving as much of the underlying tooth structure as possible
  • Repair small or misshapen teeth to create an even smile
  • Cover stained or discoloured teeth to create a long-lasting, natural-looking smile
  • Provide long-lasting restorations, up to 20 years if cared for with proper at-home and professional hygiene regimens

Benefits of Bioclear

During a traditional restoration, such as a filling, the composite resin is layered onto your tooth. With Bioclear, the composite is flowed in all at once, often leading to a stronger result. Additionally, because the composite is a liquid, it fills in all the gaps in your tooth, helping to prevent future decay.

With some other restoration methods, your dentist may have to file down your existing tooth for resins to adhere or crowns to fit, but with Bioclear, your tooth structure remains whole. This makes future dental work easier to do should your tooth need further procedures.
